India is land of culture, tradition and patriotism. There are many structures and monuments in the country which reminds us of our great freedom struggle. Among all, Ashok Stambh which is was made by the great Mughal emperor Ashoka as a tribute to country as a symbol of unity, integrity and spirtuality.

Ashok Stambh though in our country as got official importance as it can be seen on our currency and on the all the government building. People of the country also like to own one of their own as many Ashok Stambh sculptures of wood, marble and soapstone are available in the market. It is the pride of our country and is exclusively handcrafted by the artisans of the region thus making it all more adorable and engaging!

Ashok Stambh symbolizes that it is only the truth that prevails and win the fight. No war can be won with hatred but it is only the love that succeeds to win heart and keep the nation united. The message given by the statue holds true even in the times when we are heading towards the technology driven 21st century.

Ashok was the true follower of the Lord Buddha. He was so impressed and moved by the saying and preaching of the saint that he started spreading the Buddhism all over the world by himself. Today, Buddhism is most followed religion in the Central and Southern Asia. There are around 84,000 stupas and numerous residences built by the emperor for monks to reside.

Ashok is also accredited with building the Ashok Stambh in various parts on the Northern India. Among all, Ashok Stambh of Sarnath built in 250 BC is very popular as it is the first place where Lord Buddha gave his first preaching to the five sermons under the shade of a tree. Here, Ashoka pillar is inscribed with several spiritual messages and interestingly the pillar still stands tall and erect in good shape.

Ashok Stambh is carved with figurines giving preachings and instances of life of Buddha. The prominent figures in the Stambh are four seated lions facing in four direction signifying enlightenment. The Dharma Chakra with 24 strokes signifying change in world and time. Elephant, bull, galloping horse and inverted lotus at the base are the major inscriptions on the pillar.

You can also get for yourself the true symbol of purity and love in form of Ashok Stambh Sculpture in your home.
